Joen Bonnier is a Partner at Atomico where he leads our engagement with the world’s most sophisticated technology growth investors, global corporations and institutional investors. Joen focuses on creating opportunities for strategic co-investments and high-value collaborations for the companies we back. Joen is passionate about the power of digital transformation to drive economic growth and prosperity in Europe, and he currently sits on the board of Truecaller.
Joen has an unparalleled understanding of the dynamics of family-controlled businesses, informed by more than 15 years experience in the media and Internet sectors in both Europe and Asia. Joen held senior positions with Bertelsmann and the Bonnier Group in New York, Scandinavia and China.
Joen holds a Masters degree in Science (M.Sc) from the Stockholm School of Economics and is based in London.
Joen lived in China for eight years and while his Mandarin is OK, his acting was apparently better – making his silver screen debut in a Chinese arthouse movie ‘Short Capitalism’ which premiered at the 2015 Art Basel fair in Hong Kong.
